In honor of Earth Day and all things green, this month's theme is Compost FEAST. All those food bits you would normally throw out are now the main course (or side dish or appetizer...). If this doesn't sound so appetizing, think of some of the good stuff that gets pitched: orange peel, pumpkin seeds, coffee grounds, beet greens, chicken livers, those random egg yolks from that cake you made (custard anyone?). Get creative and be brave. Think like a worm- there are some tasty treats in that garbage can!
DATE & TIME: April 27 @ 6:30 PM.
LOCATION: 81 Sterling Place - Barber Pad

i call a coffee grounds dessert of some kind!
i'm think i'm going to do a soup and salad. for the soup, i'm going to make stock from leftover chicken bones and parmesan rinds and then maybe add some gnocchi to it made with ricotta (that counts as leftovers, right? - its cheese leftovers). I also think i'm going to make some sort of weeds salad with dandelion greens and ramps.
"Spare" ribs, anyone? chix livers?
I am going to come and wash dishes. I might bring Grappa, since that is made from the left overs from wine production, but that shit is nasty and might be a little harsh for a Sunday night. My friend Chris is also coming and bringing a soup. Let me know if you need anything else.
i believe I am doing something with chicken livers. Can I have a burner to cook them on-site?
delicious, everyone! very well done...
