Granny Glam Christmas

December's theme: Granny Glam Christmas

If you are struggling to think of ideas that fit this theme, there is a website called The Food Timeline that helped me come up with a bunch of ideas. It's not fancy, but it is comprehensive.

Silver Screen Supper - Rachel's Clip

Don't worry FEASTERS, I'm not going to make liver. Instead, I'm opting for some fava bean-related dish and chianti.

(How to: Go to Youtube. Select the YouTube Video you wish to add to your blog.
Look for the box directly to the right of the video. You will see
embedded code. Copy the embedded code to the video. Log into your

Julie's Dish - I looked around for komodo dragon steaks, but they are hard to come by, but I found inspiration in the magic of Disney. I hope your eyes sparkle like Lady's after you taste my meatballs. (Sorry for the crappy quality of this clip - it's all i could find).

Anna's Corner

We always lament when Anna isn't around to do the dishes at a FEAST meal. At the Farmer/Martin apartment (it really does sound like we are life partners), Anna is now equipped with a special sponge holder and scrubby brush. She is happy.

As a new feature on the FEAST blog, look for Anna's updates in the world of doing dishes.

Say What Now?

So I just checked the evite for tonight's FEAST and noticed a small little notation where McGrew changed his RSVP. What's this, now?
Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz decided to take over my apt. Ugh. Sorry to have to once again miss FEAST, but this morning we got offered $500 to let a film crew into our apt for the Diaz/Kutcher film tomorrow. Both roomies are out of town which puts me out of (pot)luck. My apologies, everyone. Have a great time...

I mean, I've heard excuses before, but seriously...

AND...why aren't we having a picnic in front of John's house?

October's Theme

Okay folks...

I struggled with this month's theme for a while. There was the discussion of cocktober and then maybe vag-foods, but I just couldn't make myself do it. Then I was thinking about celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of FEAST, but the 2nd Anniversary is represented by cotton and I just don't know how that would translate. So....October.....

We will be celebrating the versatility of the pumpkin. Dessert will be made at Emily and Anna's...as well as some kind of main dish.

Weigh in in the comments...should we continue to send out the evite despite the blog? I'm thinking maybe we should in the beginning, but what do you think? Emily

A Request

Since it is the eve of our 2nd Anniversary as FEASTers I have a request....send me your recipes.

Two years ago, Matt, Julie and I met up at Tea Lounge to figure out how we wanted this all to work. We actually came up with by-laws (uh, we are dorks) and theme ideas and an invite list. It was a crazy evening, *sigh*. Julie made a beautiful book that we could log all of our dinner parties with and it has sadly been sitting unused in my room since. It is time to fill it up! Let's create the FEAST cookbook. We've had some crazy themes, awesome food, and great conversation over the last two years and it would be great if we had some kind of record.

I don't need to send me every thing you have ever made for FEAST (although, if you want to it would certainly be welcomed)...but definitely send me your favorites and if you happen to have any pictures, BONUS. If you managed to save your EVITE? Send it this way. I think we will have something great to show for it.

A couple of other notes. This is our new blog! Any one of you can log on to post if you would like....send me an email and I will give you the information.

Also, we have an official email address: FEASTbklyn@gmail.com. That is where you can send the recipes, photos, etc....

Date for the next FEAST: October 16, 7PM. Mark your calendars. A theme will be announced soon.
